At the end of
this course, participants will learn:
- concepts and terminology of relational
database technology and applications
- the audit and security features of
ORACLE database systems
- what new risks to look for in relational
databases
- specific ORACLE database features that
provide for control implementation
- an audit approach for reviewing ORACLE
database systems and the applications it runs

- Overview of Database (hierarchical,
network, relational)
- The Oracle Environment (system environment,
relational data model; data structure;
operations; data consistency;
processing capabilities, interface with other systems)
- SQL Overview (data manipulation, definition
and control languages)
- Application Interface (program structure,
host variable, embedded SQL, dynamic SQL)
- Security/Integrity/Authorization (security
views of data, authorization: resources; users;
capabilities, data set protection,
data administration, technical support)
- Control of Operation and Recovery (the
Oracle log and Oracle utilities, restart and recovery,
software integrity, monitoring
and auditing)
- Audit Approach
